Ch. 7 of Teaching Science Through Inquiry and Investigation

"Questioning for Quality" in the Week 2 Electronic Reserve Readings

"The Right Way to Ask Questions" from Edutopia

Read the Question Sample Cards.

Discuss in your Learning Team which type of question is represented on each card. Categorize these questions using Bloom's Taxonomy, Productive Questions, and Functions of Questions.

Consider when each category of question could be appropriately used in the elementary classroom.

Identify how these questions might be appropriate for different phases of a 5E lesson. 

Bloom's Taxonomy: knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation

Productive questions: attention focusing, measuring and counting, comparison, action, problem-posing, and reasoning

Functions of questions: closed versus open-ended, person-centered versus subject-centered, and equitable versus inequitable 

Categorize the Question Sample Cards. Categorize these questions using Bloom's Taxonomy, Productive Questions, and Functions of Question.

Create a table to show the questions in the different categories. 

Submit the assignment.
